Scuba Diving Maldives: the Maldives is a tropical island nation in the heart of the Indian Ocean, with more than 1,190 small, coral islands stretching over approximately 2000 kilometers.
Scuba diving is done at a leisurely drift pace as the Indian Monsoon Current sweeps along the island chains, moving nutrients and divers along. This nutrient-rich water flows up along the walls, feeding the soft corals clinging to the rock sides.
Inside the atoll lagoons, rock pinnacles – thila – rise up from the depths to scratch the water’s surface. In the channels, there are swim-throughs, caverns and overhangs festooned with colorful sponges, invertebrates, and gorgonians to explore.
At well-known cleaning stations, wrasse and shrimp service manta rays, with a giant turtle and whale shark sightings common. A dive holiday in the Maldives makes for an unforgettable experience

BEST TIME TO GO
Best Time To Visit the Maldives
Maldives is a tropical, hot, and humid destination with loads of sunshine and temperatures around 24-33°C/75-91°F year-round. The diving is good all year long, but the monsoon brings significant rain between April and October, especially June to August.
Water temperatures are normally constant throughout the year at 26-29°C, except in the far south where the water temperature can drop to 24°C during the northeast monsoon.
Maldives Diving Season
The Maldives scuba diving holiday season runs all year round but the recommended months for liveaboard departures are from November to May. If you wish to come outside of November to May, we do offer private charters between this period.
Wet Season with rain, winds, and waves runs from May to August reducing the visibility, but diving is still good. It is usually heavy short rains followed by sunshine.
Best visibility and dry weather is from December to March. The Hottest season is from April to June. The High Plankton density in May reduces visibility but does attract Manta Rays and Whale Sharks makes it a Manta Season.
Mantas, whale sharks, turtles, reef sharks, and hammerhead sharks are found in the Maldives water all year round. Manta rays are found in even greater numbers in the southwest monsoon.
