Our a 60ft’ (18 metre) traditional Dhow, now located in Zanzibar, Tanzania was converted in Germany into an ocean sailing yacht capable of major ocean crossings.  Upon completion of her refit, she sailed around the world until she arrived in Tanzania where she is now permanently based.Her major refit included many new comforts and modern safety and navigation equipment being added to her.

Although she now provides modern comfort and electronics for a safe cruising, she retains the traditional Dhow design as well as the Lateen sail.

She arguable the most beautifully Dhow in East Africa, set up day and live aboard excursions


Layout:
Traditional Dhow deck converted to teak decking with inlay, raised cabin ceilings, central covered cockpit, two-helm steering, upper sun deck, large aft double cabin with couch, large fore twin/double cabin, two separate heads and showers, lower deck lounge and galley.


  • 2 x double/twin cabins

  • Freshwater (hot and cold)

  • 2 showers with hot/cold water.

  • 2 x Electric toilets and freshwater sinks.

  • Galley with gas cooker and oven,

  • 3 x fridge/freezers.

  • Flat screen TV and sound system.

  • Outdoor sound system.

  • Ample seating on sun deck for up to 6 - 8 guests

  • Couches in inner saloon

  • Various sun beds and  loungers arranged throughout the boat.

  • Power: 12V, 24V, 220V power generated by solar and wind.

BEST TIME TO GO
 

Zanzibar/ Pemba Archipelago

  • Mid Dec to End Feb -  Best charter areas N Zanzibar and Pemba Archipelago west coast and south. 

  • March April calm with flat seas and hot. Cruising everywhere is fantastic

  • - May calm seas but usually some rain about. Still not a bad time to be cruising as cool with calm seas.

  • June through to end Sept -  Best charter areas Pemba North and West Coast. 

  • Oct through to mid Dec. Fantastic time, calm seas, good fishing, hot and cruising all areas is fantastic

Mafia Archipelago

  • The best times to cruise Mafia is March through to July & Oct through to mid Dec. 

  • Aug, Sept, late Dec, Jan and Feb the wind can blow, but if guests can handle this, then its fine.

HOW TO GET THERE
 

  • International Flight direct to Stone Town (Zanzibar Island)

  • Meet and greet at the airport

  • Road Transfer to your hotel or resort if you have pre-charter nights booked, or directly to Nungwi or to Stone Town beach front to meet crew and transfer by dingy to yacht.
