WINE & DINE
The dining area at Chundu allows for indoor and outdoor dining as well as different views of the Zambezi as it is separated from the main lodge by natural fauna and flora and the most magnificent tree on the island, an ancient Acacia Albida.
The bar area overlooks the main deck and is home to Chundu’s finest cocktails. Enjoy a refreshing Mojito or zesty Old Fashioned in the pool while overlooking the river and our seasonal beach. Six Dogs Gin is a firm favourite and our barman will be sure to help you make the best possible drink selections during your stay with us. Sunsets at Chundu Island are exceptionally special and we are sure you will find solace as you gaze into the evening sky.
Indulge yourself in our Wine Cellar and make a selection from a number of fine wines imported from South Africa. Sip on an aromatic Sauvignon Blanc, a crisp Chardonnay or a buttery Champagne while taking in the sights from the Pool deck. Your evening meal will find no better accompaniment than a full-bodied Merlot, robust Cabernet Sauvignon or flamboyant Pinotage.

BEST TIME TO GO
The high water period runs from February to July – this is when the falls are at their most spectacular. The low water period occurs from August to January, when the spray is less, with the geological formation of the falls most visible.
Game and wildife viewing is at its best from May through to October This makes game viewing easier because there is less foliage and animals are drawn to water holes and rivers.
Available all year round, although the water levels differ – generally a gentle, tranquil experience, it may become a little more exciting in the period from August to December when the water is lower.
