MKOMBE'S HOUSE LAMAI
Ideal for families or groups of friends, and occupying its own private space and built around the rocks of the Kogakuria Kopje, Mkombe's House has been beautifully styled along the same lines as our award winning Lamai Serengeti. What we particularly love about it is that while it looks great, it is still somewhere you can completely relax in, it is the ultimate home-away-from-home Serengeti experience.
The House is fully self-contained and private with two en-suite double/twin rooms, each with a nearby secure and en-suite children's room. The House can sleep a total of 4 adults and 6 children comfortably and there is no minimum age.
Each day, meals are planned with the in-house chef, allowing for lots of flexibility and plenty of choice from a menu loaded with fresh produce, home-baking and delicious flavours.
The House incorporates a private dining room and lounge in addition to outside chill-out areas, a plunge pool and larger swimming pool all enjoying magnificent views across the Northern Serengeti.

KIBA POINT
Kiba Point is a private camp set in the Selous Park; a totally exclusive little retreat in the heart of one of the most game-rich areas of Tanzania.
Kiba Point has just four rooms, raised and entirely open at the front to take advantage of the river views. The thrill of sleeping with such proximity to nature, while completely safe, makes Kiba a special and unique experience.
It's a mile downstream from the main Sand Rivers Selous lodge, but it operates completely in its own private world. It's set back off the river with bathrooms that are bush deluxe, with flush toilets, indoor and outdoor showers and hot and cold water as and when you want.
Each room has its own plunge pool set into the edge of the deck and there is also a large pool at the main thatched mess, where you can also sink into comfortable sofas and chairs for an afternoon of general laziness.
Kiba Point has its own small team of guides and staffs, all of whom can help you plan your activities. Head out every day either on foot, by boat or by vehicle - as you want and when you want - that's the beauty of your own private camp.
Includes - all meals, house drinks, laundry and private activities including 4x4 game drives, boating, fishing and walking (minimum age 12 years) and exclusive use of camp.

ITINERARY
DAY 1
Today you will fly into the Serengeti, and the northern most part of the ecosystem, right against the border with Kenya and the Masai Mara. This is a beautiful flight over the Ngorongoro Highlands, passing Ol Donyo Lengai and arriving in the northern Serengeti usually in time for a late lunch before you settle into your home away from home.
DAYS 1 - 4 | MKOMBE'S HOUSE LAMAI - SERENGETI
We know from experience that when you are travelling with family and friends, and particualry with small children, the ability to plan your days around your specific needs is all-important. That’s why Mkombe’s House has a private guide, with whom you can decide what you’d like to do each day. This part of the Serengeti is bisected by the Mara River, which once a year over a million wildebeest throw themselves across crocodile infested waters, heading for where the grass is greener. What is less known about this part of the Serengeti ecosystem is the excellent concentrations of resident game, and out of migration season we have it almost to ourselves. Read more about Mkombe's House.
DAY 4 FLY FROM THE SERENGETI TO NYERERE
A long flight from north to south of the country, but well worth it. This flight takes you over a vast area of Tanzania, with a few stops along the way to pick up and drop passengers and a chance to stretch your legs. You will arrive in Nyerere this afternoon and game drive from the airstrip with your guide to Kiba Point.
DAYS 4 - 8 | KIBA POINT SELOUS
Days out from Kiba Point are all about exploring with your private guide, in all sorts of ways. Open-sided 4x4 vehicles are a great way of seeing things and for covering a bit of distance when that's what's needed. But, most importantly at Kiba Point, we like to retain sponteneity wherever we can. Often the best way to see things, is to head out on foot and quietly work our way into a good position. And then there are the boats. Just being on boats on the river - never mind the game - is a fantasic contrast to time spent in a vehicle. Last but not least, why not head out fly-camping. Take it from us, you have to try it. Read more about Kiba Point.
DAY 8 | FLY FROM NYERERE TO DAR ES SALAAM
Say goodbye to new friends at Kiba Point and head for the airstrip on one last short game drive with your guide. You will catch your rather short 45 minute flight from our Kiba Airstrip in Nyerere to Dar es Salaam where you can connect with your onward arrangements.
